Terms of service
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of QRtimer. By creating an account or using QRtimer you accept them on behalf of yourself and the organization you register.
1. The service
QRtimer is online software for taking attendance with QR codes and for related tools such as reports, certificates, feedback forms, quizzes, surveys and emails to participants. Features and limits depend on your plan, as described on the pricing page.
2. Your account
You must give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account and by the team members you invite. Tell us at once at [email protected] if you think your account has been misused.
3. Your participants and your data
You decide whose data you upload and how QRtimer is used for your events. For participant data you are the controller and we process it on your behalf, only to provide the service. You confirm that you have a lawful basis to collect attendance, that you have told participants how their data is used, and that you have any consent the law requires, in particular before using selfie check-in, location check, forms or emails. If participants are children, you are responsible for obtaining consent from a parent or guardian where the law requires it.
4. Emails to participants
You may only send emails that participants can reasonably expect from you about your events, such as reminders, follow-ups, forms and certificates. Do not send unsolicited marketing, misleading content or anything that breaks anti-spam or privacy law. Every email includes an unsubscribe link and we honour every request. We may limit or stop sending if messages cause complaints, bounces or harm to our sending reputation.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use QRtimer to break the law, to record attendance falsely, to harass anyone, to upload malicious code, to try to access data that is not yours, or to overload or reverse engineer the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that do.
6. Plans, payments and discount codes
Paid plans are subscriptions billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through PayPal, and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are shown before you subscribe and may include taxes where required. Discount codes apply only to the plans, billing periods and number of payments stated when you use them, cannot be exchanged for cash and can be withdrawn by us at any time for new subscriptions; a discount already applied to your subscription stays for the payments it covered. If we change a price, we will tell you in advance and the new price applies from your next renewal.
7. Changes, cancelling and refunds
You can upgrade, downgrade, switch between monthly and yearly or cancel at any time from the Plan and billing page. Downgrades and billing period changes take effect when the period you have paid for ends. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of that period. Payments are not refundable, including for partly used periods, except where the law requires a refund.
8. Free plan and changes to the service
We may change, add or remove features and limits, including on the Free plan, and will give reasonable notice of changes that significantly reduce what a paid plan includes.
9. Availability
We work to keep QRtimer available and secure, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of important reports and records; you can download them at any time.
10. Attendance records, certificates and forms
QRtimer records what participants and your team do in it. We do not verify who attends your events, the content of certificates you issue, or answers to your forms, and we are not responsible for decisions you make based on them.
11. Third-party services
Payments are handled by PayPal and sign-in can use Google. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.
12. Intellectual property
We own QRtimer and its software. You keep all rights to the data you upload. You give us the rights we need to host and process it to provide the service. Suggestions you send us may be used without obligation.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using QRtimer and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or fails to pay, and will give notice where reasonable. After closure we keep your data for a limited time so you can export it, then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
14. Disclaimer
Apart from what these terms say, QRtimer is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data or lost opportunities, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
16. Indemnity
You will defend and compensate us against claims by third parties, including your participants, arising from data you upload, emails you send or your breach of these terms or of the law.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will publish the new version here and tell account owners of significant changes before they apply. Continuing to use QRtimer after that means you accept them.
18. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator of QRtimer is established, and its courts have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to use another law or court.
