Attendance tracking software for training, classes and events
The QR code attendance software that stops fake check-ins
Take attendance at trainings, classes, events and meetings with a QR code that changes every few seconds. One phone per person, location check and locked attendance sheets mean every name on the list was really there.
Check-in app prices are public list prices for around 500 participants, checked in October 2026. Features vary by product and plan.
An attendance record that holds up
Only registered names count. Facilitators cannot add people on the day.
Sheets lock at the end. Corrections need an administrator and a written reason.
Every change is in the report. Auditors, clients and managers see what changed, who changed it and why.
Integrity checks across events. Duplicated phones and invented participants are flagged.
Roles for every job. Owners, administrators, programme managers, facilitators and viewers, on every plan.

What is a QR code attendance system?
A QR code attendance system replaces the paper sign-in sheet with self check-in on each person's phone. Instead of passing a sheet around, you show a QR code on screen; participants scan it, identify themselves and are recorded with the exact time. The attendance sheet fills itself in, totals are instant and reports need no retyping.
The weak point of most QR attendance apps is the code itself. A fixed QR code works like a shared password: once a photo of it reaches a group chat, anyone can check in from anywhere. Read the complete guide to QR code attendance.
Why a rotating QR code stops proxy attendance
QRtimer's code changes every few seconds and each phone can check in only one person per session. A screenshot expires before it can be shared, and nobody can check in a row of absent friends. Add location check to catch the last trick, a live photo sent to someone outside. Six ways to prevent proxy attendance.
An online attendance tracker for any session
Use it as a training attendance tracker for multi-day courses, a class attendance app for lectures and labs, an event check-in system for conferences, or a sign-in sheet replacement for meetings and inductions. Participants are registered once per event and attend many sessions, so you can see who completed the programme, how long they stayed and who qualifies for a certificate. How to track training attendance, or see the event check-in guide.
A QR code attendance system lets people record their own attendance by scanning a QR code with their phone. The scan opens a check-in page, the person identifies themselves, and the system records who checked in and when. QRtimer adds a code that changes every few seconds, one phone per person and locked attendance sheets, so the list cannot be padded.
How do I take attendance with a QR code?
Create an event, import your participant list from Excel and open a session. Show the QR code on a projector, TV or entrance screen. Participants scan it with their phone camera and type their personal code. When the session ends, the attendance sheet locks and the PDF report is ready.
Can someone check in for a friend who is not there?
Not easily. The code changes every few seconds, so a photo of it is useless by the time it is shared. Each phone can check in only one person per session, location check can flag or refuse check-ins from outside the venue, and integrity checks show codes used on a second phone.
Can I require a selfie at check-in?
On the Business plan, owners and administrators can ask for a selfie at check-in. The photo appears next to the person's name on the attendance sheet, is visible only to your team and is deleted automatically after 180 days.
What is the difference between an event and a session?
An event is the whole programme: one training, course, term or conference, with its list of registered participants. A session is one sitting inside it, such as a day, module or class, and each session has its own attendance sheet. Register people once per event, then take attendance at every session and see who completed the programme.
Do participants need an app or an account?
No. They use their phone camera, open the page and type their participant code, email or phone number, whichever you choose for the event.
Can I record check-out times and time spent?
Yes. Participants can check out by scanning again, facilitators can check people out, or you can close the session for everyone. Reports show check-in time, check-out time and how long each person stayed.
What if a participant's phone dies or they have no smartphone?
If you allow it, a facilitator checks them in at the door and the sheet records who did it. After the session, an administrator can also mark someone present with a written reason, which appears in the audit log and the PDF report.
What do the attendance reports look like?
Every report is a PDF on your own letterhead with your logo, address and signature lines, plus a report ID so anyone can check it against your audit log. Owners and administrators can also export to Excel.
Can I issue certificates of attendance?
Yes. Set the requirement, such as a share of sessions or a number of hours, and QRtimer issues certificates to people who meet it. Each certificate has a QR code anyone can scan to confirm it is genuine.
Can participants give feedback or take a quiz?
Yes, on paid plans. Right after checking in or out, the phone can show a short feedback form or a quiz, and you can email a personal link later. There is no account or app, and anonymous surveys are supported.
Do I need to download or install attendance software?
No. QRtimer is online attendance software that runs in the browser on any computer, tablet or phone, so there is nothing to download, install or update. Participants check in with their phone camera, without an app.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. QRtimer is free attendance software for one event with up to 50 participants, with every core feature and no card needed. Paid plans are monthly or yearly subscriptions through PayPal that you can cancel any time; yearly gets you 2 months free.
