Getting started

Create an event and choose its check-in rules

The event holds your participant list and the rules every session follows. You can change the settings later on the event's Settings tab.

  • 4 minutes
  • Owner, administrator or programme manager
  1. Start a new event

From the dashboard or Events, choose New event. Enter the title, description, location and start and end dates.

  2. Choose how participants identify themselves

Under Participants identify themselves with pick Participant code (recommended), Registered email, Registered phone number or Code, email or phone number. The check-in page, the emails and the printed cards all ask for exactly this. Email or phone only works for people registered with one. See Choose how participants identify themselves.

  3. Keep one phone per person on

One phone checks in one person per session stops someone checking in absent friends from their own phone. Leave it on unless people genuinely share devices.

  4. Decide on door check-in

Owners and administrators can tick Allow facilitators to check people in at the door for participants without a smartphone. Every door check-in records who did it. See Check in people without a smartphone.

  5. Optional: location check

Under Location check choose Flag check-ins away from the venue or Refuse check-ins away from the venue, then find the venue address. See Require check-in at the venue.

  6. Optional: certificates

Set the minimum attendance (%) or hours, the signatures and the text. You can preview the certificate after saving. See Issue certificates of attendance.

  7. Create the event

Choose Create event. You land on the Participants tab, ready to add people.
